Role and responsibilities

We're in need of a self-sufficient, proactive, and multi-faceted marketer with a versatile skill set who thrives in solving complex challenges, isn't afraid to get their hands dirty, and enjoys wearing many different hats.

You will be the first to take on a marketing role in the company, meaning you will report directly to the CEO and be responsible for deploying an extensive marketing budget. It also means that, in the beginning, much of your work will be tactical.

Your prime directive will be consumer-side growth, and your main skill set should lie within performance marketing with a full-funnel approach (AARRR). You will work closely with the sales and product teams to grow Trail's North Star Metric: Playtime.

Playtime is defined as the amount of time users spend in-game on the Trail platform.

An important part of your work also lies in building and executing a program with the purpose to find consumer-side product-market fit and identifying our target consumer(s).

Other work tasks will initially include:

  • Community management (Trail.gg and our official Discord server)

  • Blog management

  • Social media management (Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, ?)

  • Plus whatever else you think is important enough to warrant your attention


Requirements

Skills

You have at least 5 years of marketing experience. Ideally with some of those years within gaming.

You are an expert at:

  • Performance marketing

  • Display advertising

  • AARRR

  • Analytics & data

  • A/B-testing

  • CRO

You are well-versed in:

  • SEO

  • SEM

  • Basic HTML/CSS/JavaScript

  • Content marketing

  • Product marketing

You have an understanding of:

  • Brand marketing

Channels

You have definitely worked with:

  • Google Ads

  • Facebook Ads

You have probably worked with:

  • YouTube Ads

You might have worked with:

  • Twitch/influencer marketing
